Rene Van Baren
Rene holds an UEFA ‘’A’’ License and a degree in physical education.
Rene has been working for the KNVB (Royal Netherlands Soccer Association) for the past six years. Prior to that, he worked for two years with Excelsior Rotterdam, currently in the First Division in Holland, where he was involved in the Club’s youth program.
In his work for the KNVB, Rene is responsible for District South-Holland (one of the 6 districts in Holland). There Rene oversees the approximately 360 clubs where he supervises, co-ordinates and directs :
- Club development
- Coach development
- Player development
Last year Rene’s team won the Dutch championship for girls U14 as well, Rene is an analyst for the National Boys U16 team.
Rene obtained his UEFA A (after UEFA Pro, the highest coaching level can be reached in Europe) after an internship with Feyenoord Rotterdam (U18 team); considered the best youth academy in the Netherlands.
Rene’s work with the TSC has him advising the Club in the development of training for both coaches and players to improve their skills and at the same time instilling the importance of the Club and the pride of membership. Each summer Rene organises clinics for coaches and players here in Tecumseh.

Director of Coaching
Steve has been coaching for thirty five years, from four year old boys and girls to senior men and women. He has served both as President and Vice President during his fourteen years with Tecumseh Soccer Club. He has operated soccer camps for eleven years as well as a soccer Academy. Steve also coached at Belle River High School for nine years. His teams have won many championships. He holds an Ontario Pre-B license.

Head Coach, Girls’ and Women’s Soccer
Kevin holds an OSA Provincial B coaching license and has coached soccer in Essex County for 36 years. He has coached boys’, girls’, women’s and men’s teams and at the competitive club, house league, high school and university levels, and has served as an assistant district coach in the province’s player development program. Kevin is a retired secondary school principal and a former president of WECSAA, the governing body for local high school sports.
U7 and U8 Selects and Academy Coach
J.J. played in Tecumseh youth soccer and then for the University of Windsor and the Border Stars. He currently plays for the Tecumseh men’s team. He has coached locally for various clubs including Eastside Kickers and F.C.Nationals, and in Michigan for the Gators. He has also been an assistant coach at the University of Windsor and is currently the boys’ head coach at Kennedy Collegiate. He holds an Ontario Pre-B license and a USA D License. J.J. will be Canada’s soccer coach in the International Children’s Games in Windsor this summer.
National-B Coach, Goalkeeping Coach
Daniel Mendonca is an Ontario National-B coach as well as an OSA certified goalkeeper coach. In addition to his 8 years as a Youth Competitive coach, Daniel is the co-founder and Head Technical Director of Last Line Goalkeeping Academy in Windsor Essex County. He also serves as the Head Coach of the Windsor Stars U23 Team in the CSL Second Division, and as the University of Windsor’s Head Goalkeeping Coach in addition to being Tecumseh Soccer Club’s Head Goalkeeping Coach and a Tecumseh team coach. He was a Blue and Gold Athletic Scholarship recipient at the University of Windsor, a five year starting goalkeeper for the Lancers, and in 2008 was the Head Coach of TSC’s U-16 Boys Tier 2 Ontario Cup Champions. Dan will be an assistant coach for Canada at the International Children’s Games this summer in Windsor.
